Planned Giving

Married couple making plans

When you give a planned gift to Faith Regional Foundation, you're giving a gift of a lifetime. Your gift supports the latest technology, provides innovative patient care and treatment, and helps to enhance our facilities. There are many options for planned giving available to you to fit your needs and wishes.

Beneficiary Designations

You can make a lasting impact at Faith Regional by giving a gift through your IRA or retirement plan. Your designated beneficiary gift supports the staff, facilities, and departments at Faith Regional and is a quick, easy, and tax-efficient way to support our mission.

How to name Faith Regional as a beneficiary of an IRA or retirement plan account.
  • Consult with an attorney or financial advisor. When you modify any legal document, similar to a will, changing the beneficiary designation can have tax or estate planning consequences. Obtain all necessary forms from your employer or financial institution to change a beneficiary.
  • On the form, name Faith Regional Foundation Federal ID number 91-1772474 as the beneficiary. You can allocate a percentage or amount to Faith Regional or you can make the Foundation a contingent beneficiary. You can also direct your support to a specific program or department within Foundation. You need to work directly with the Foundation to direct the funds appropriately.
  • Complete all necessary forms as instructed by your advisor and submit as directed. Keep copies for your records and send one to the Faith Regional Foundation.
  • You can change your mind if conditions change. And no gift is made to Faith Regional until you are done using your account.
  • You can name Faith Regional Foundation as a beneficiary for:
    • Retirement plans

Donor-Advised Funds

You may choose to support Faith Regional Foundation through a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) which is like a family charitable savings account. To set up a DAF, you need to open an account with a tax-exempt organization like a local community foundation or one of several national institutions. You qualify for an income tax deduction when you give to a DAF account and then you can recommend grants to Faith Regional Foundation or other non-profit organizations.

Faith Regional Foundation is a qualified 501(c)3 non-profit organization that can receive grants. We can provide you with appropriate documentation to confirm our non-profit status and eligibility. Information that you may need:

Endowments

You may want to create a lasting legacy at Faith Regional by setting up an endowment. This is a permanent fund that is created with a gift of $10,000 or more, usually named in the honor of the donor or in memory or recognition of a loved one. The principle remains invested, while the income generated by the endowment is used to support specific programs or needs of Faith Regional. Call us at (402) 644-7302 or email us at foundation@frhs.org if you would like to discuss setting up an endowment.

IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions

An IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution is a simple way to give back to Faith Regional and receive tax benefits in return if you are 70 1/2 years old or older. You can give up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to Faith Regional Foundation without having to pay income taxes on the money. This gift allows you to see the difference your donation makes in the lives of our patients and our staff. Typically, your IRA administrator has a form for you to complete the transfer. Information you may need for the form:

LEGAL NAME: Faith Regional Health Services Foundation
ADDRESS: 2700 W. Norfolk Ave., Norfolk, NE 68701
FEDERAL TAX ID #: 91-1772474

If you have questions related to giving a gift to the Foundation through an IRA Qualified Charitable Distribution, call us at (402) 644-7302 or email us at foundation@frhs.org.

Real Estate and Vehicle Donations

Some donors want to make a large gift to the Foundation through a donation of real estate or a vehicle. This type of donation helps support our mission and continue to provide important services to our region and this type of gift also benefits the donor.

When you give the Foundation appreciated property that you have had longer than a year, you qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction. You are able to avoid paying capital gains tax and you no longer are responsible for that property's maintenance costs, property taxes, or insurance. Another benefit for you as a donor is that you don't have to deal with selling the property, you can deed the property directly to Faith Regional Foundation and ask your attorney to include the direction in your will or trust agreement.

You will want to discuss this type of donation with your financial or legal advisors to ensure the proper forms are completed prior to giving your gift.

There are many different ways to give real estate to our Foundation. Please contact us at foundation@frhs.org or call us at (402) 644-7302 to discuss this type of gift.

Transfer Stocks/Other Assets

If you would like to make a big impact on the Faith Regional Foundation while maximizing the potential tax benefits for you, you can make a gift of appreciated stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or exchange-traded funds. You can work with your financial advisor or broker to assist you in making the transfer. If you have questions or want to discuss this more, call us at (402) 644-7302 or email foundation@frhs.org.

Wills and Bequests

Designating Faith Regional Foundation in your will is an easy way to make a lasting legacy and have a powerful impact on helping our patients and their families. There are many reasons to make a bequest, perhaps you want to recognize an outstanding provider or nurse or you may want to honor the memory of a loved one. No matter the reason, giving a gift through your will is a meaningful way to support our mission.

There are many ways to give a gift through your will and to structure your bequest.

Specific Bequests

These bequests can make a gift of a specific amount or a specific asset, such as personal property or real estate. An example:

"I give and bequeath the sum of _____ (Dollars) ($______) to the Faith Regional Foundation, located at 2700 W. Norfolk Ave., Norfolk, NE 68701, for its greatest needs."

Contingent Bequests

These bequests provide Faith Regional Foundation with a gift only in the event of the death of other primary beneficiaries or when certain conditions in your will are met. For example:

"If my wife, Jane Doe, does not survive me, I give and bequeath the sum of _____(Dollars) ($_____) to the Faith Regional Foundation, located at 2700 W. Norfolk Ave., Norfolk, NE 68701, for its general support."

Residuary Bequests

The bequests are used to give all or a portion of your estate that is remaining after all expenses, taxes, and distributions are made. For example:

"I give and bequeath _____ percent (___%) to the Faith Regional Foundation, located at 2700 W. Norfolk Ave., Norfolk, NE 68701, for its greatest need."

You can also give to a specific program or department by specifying the specialty or program instead of general need/support.

Please contact the staff at Faith Regional Foundation to discuss your gift and what you would like to support. Email us at foundation@frhs.org or call us at (402) 644-7302 to get started.

If you desire to have your gifts remain anonymous, please let the Foundation know when you're setting up your planned gift. All gifts are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
