Faith Regional Health Services’ Foundation is preparing to “Let the Good Times Roll” at this year’s 2018 Masquerade Gala to be held on Saturday, April 14 at the Divots DeVent Center in Norfolk. The annual event begins at 5:30 p.m. and includes an evening of delicious dining, raffles, silent and oral auctions, and entertainment inspired by the traditions of Mardi Gras and Masquerade Balls. Guests will also enjoy the musical talents of the Omaha band, The Finest Hour, starting at 9:00 p.m. Masks are encouraged but not required.
This year’s proceeds will benefit Obstetrics and Newborn Care at Faith Regional by funding the purchase and installation of labor tubs in all labor rooms which have shown to provide comfort to mothers during labor as well as diminish stress, reduce pain, ease muscular tension and enhance relaxation during and between contractions. In addition to the labor tubs, funds raised will also be used to purchase new Panda Warmers by GE – these warmers are designed to help keep healthy babies healthy. Finally, funds will also go to purchase state-of-the-art baby bassinets designed to keep baby closer to mom than ever before with an innovative design that promotes skin-to-skin bonding and provides baby a safe sleep environment and models safe sleep practices for parents.
The gala is Faith Regional’s largest fundraiser. Last year was the largest gala to date, with over 500 guests that helped to raise over $140,000 to purchase a Dual Incu I incubator---the first of its kind, this incubator has a built-in battery that can support all the equipment needed to safely stabilize and transport a newborn with special needs.
