Your kidneys are a critical part of your body's basic functions, helping to filter waste and extra water from your blood. Your kidneys also perform other functions vital to good health, including producing needed hormones to control blood pressure, make red blood cells and activate vitamin D.

Each patient may have different symptoms, but these are some of the most common symptoms of kidney disease:

• Blood in the Urine
• Fatigue
• Frequent Headaches
• High Blood Pressure
• Itchiness All over the Body
• Loss of Appetite
• Muscle Cramps or Pain in the Lower Back (Not aggravated by movement)
• Nausea and Vomiting
• Puffiness around Eyes, Swelling of Hands and Feet
• Skin May Darken

Our nephrologist specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases and conditions of the kidneys. You may be referred to see a nephrologist if you have any of the symptoms above or have been diagnosed with:
