Russ Baumert, PT, DPT, Cert. MDT
Russ Baumert is a 2005 graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He has been practicing at Faith Regional since 2008 as an outpatient physical therapist. Russ earned MDT Certification from The McKenzie Institute® USA Center for Postgraduate Study in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy® (MDT) in 2018. He completed a series of advanced postgraduate courses and passed a credentialing examination to become a certified practitioner of the McKenzie Method® of MDT. He utilizes the evidence-based patient management system proven to eliminate back, neck and extremity pain in fewer visits compared to traditional treatment. Russ introduced Sportsmetrics,TM an ACL injury prevention program for female athletes, to the area and the Faith Regional Sports Medicine team. Russ has completed advanced training in sports medicine, orthopedic rehabilitation and occupational medicine. Russ is a sports medicine physical therapist at Faith Regional’s East Campus and satellite clinic in the Pierce Jr./Sr. High School. Russ developed and implemented an advanced total hip replacement rehab program at Faith Regional that is endorsed by the local orthopedic surgeons. He is a certified occupational medicine rehabilitation specialist through OccuPro and helped develop Faith Regional’s Occ Med rehab program. He is one of only a few therapists in the area certified to perform functional capacity evaluations. In his spare time, Russ enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and golfing.
