What is Primary Care?

Your primary care provider can diagnose and treat a wide variety of illnesses. If you feel under the weather, your primary care provider may be the first person you turn to help manage your symptoms.  Furthermore, your primary care provider offers a wide range of services to help you achieve good health, including:

  • Annual physicals, including well-check checks, school physicals, and sports physicals
  • Chronic care management
  • Diagnosing and treatment of common illnesses
  • Diagnosing and treatment of minor injuries
  • Immunization recommendations
  • Medication management
  • Screening recommendations
  • Referral to specialists when needed

Why have a Primary Care Provider?

One of the best things you can do for your health is to have an ongoing relationship with a primary care provider. Seeing the same provider regularly can lead to better health outcomes and even lower healthcare costs.

Your provider will get to know you, your health history, and your habits. Together, you can discuss options to better manage your health and help you reach your health goals.

Our family medicine providers can diagnose and treat most medical conditions and offer preventative care for all ages, including newborns. Some primary care providers also provide obstetric services, including prenatal care and delivering your baby.
