Driving Assessment Program

Who Can Benefit?

Evaluating Individuals For Safe Driving Skills

Driving your own car is a privilege that most of us take for granted every day. But changes in physical, mental and sensory abilities can create challenges for many individuals to continue to drive safely.

Faith Regional Occupational Therapy can help make sure an individual is fit for the road by offering a comprehensive driving assessment that evaluates a person’s ability to operate a vehicle safely, and, where appropriate, provide rehabilitation or adaptive equipment to strengthen driving skills.

Driving Evaluations
Faith Regional Occupational Therapy provides an in-clinic assessment to evaluate:

  • Vision
  • Cognition
  • Motor Skills
  • Reaction Time

Following the in-clinic evaluation, an on-the-road driving assessment is performed by Adaptive Experts, LLC where education on any new adaptive equipment and in-car training skills is provided. The assessment is performed using a regular or specialized vehicle in typical driving conditions for city, rural and highway environments.

Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance may cover the cost for in-clinic evaluations with additional financial assistance potentially available for on-the-road driving assessments.
