Faith Regional’s CardioVascular Institute offers services to detect and treat arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats. Our goal is to work with you to help you manage your condition before it leads to more serious complications.
Conditions that may cause your irregular heartbeat or may need heart rhythm management include:
- Atrial Fibrillation (AFib)
- Atrial Flutter
- Ventricular Tachycardia
- Ventricular Fibrillation
When diagnosing your irregular heartbeat, your physician may use one or both of these tests:
- EKG (electrocardiogram)
- Cardiac electrophysiology study
If your arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat, is mild, your condition may not require treatment and it may not cause problems. If you do need treatment, your physician will individualize a treatment plan for you. In addition to lifestyle changes and medication, your treatment may include:
- Cryoablation and Radiofrequency
- Maze Procedure
- Implantable Converter Defibrillator
