When diagnosing your irregular heartbeat, your physician may use one or both of these tests:
- EKG (electrocardiogram)
- Cardiac electrophysiology study
If your arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat, is mild, your condition may not require treatment and it may not cause problems. If you do need treatment, your physician will individualize a treatment plan for you. In addition to lifestyle changes and medication, your treatment may include:
- Cryoablation and Radiofrequency
- Maze Procedure
- Implantable Converter Defibrillator
