Dr. Bergquist specializes in Sports Medicine, with an emphasis on less invasive arthroscopic techniques for the repair and reconstruction of knee and shoulder injuries, as well as General Orthopaedic Surgery for complex fractures and joint reconstruction. He is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Bergquist received his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Iowa, and his medical degree from Midwestern University at Downers Grove, IL. He enjoyed success early in his career, being elected Medical School Class President and receiving the Orthopaedic Surgery Internship Recognition Award for his dedication to the field of Orthopaedic Surgery. He went on to complete his residency at St. James Medical and Trauma Center in Olympia Fields, IL.
After residency, Dr. Bergquist pursued additional training through the University of Arizona’s Sports Medicine Fellowship program. As a Sports Medicine Fellow, he was a team physician for the University of Arizona’s athletic programs, including the University football team. His research and training during Fellowship also focused on arthroscopic techniques for the repair and reconstruction of knee and shoulder injuries. Prior to coming to Nebraska, Dr. Bergquist practiced Orthopaedic Surgery in Denver, Colorado, where he specialized in Sports Medicine.
