Faith Regional Health Services Foundation is getting geared up for its 4th Annual Game of Hearts event taking place on Saturday, August 17 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Divot’s DeVent Center. Attendees are invited to enjoy a grown-up game night, dinner and drinks, raffles, a silent auction and a live DJ. Games will include Human Foosball, Giant Jenga, Corn Hole, Bucket Pong, Connect Four, Black Jack and more. All proceeds benefit Faith Regional’s AED Community Initiative which aims to raise funds to purchase Automated External Defibrillators (AED) for schools, businesses and organizations throughout the region that need them.
Faith Regional is committed to improving the heart health of area communities. Since 2017, funds from this event have been used to purchase equipment, education and resources needed to help those in our region who suffer from sudden cardiac arrest or heart conditions.
Faith Regional’s CPR in Schools program provided CPR kits to nearly 60 schools and Faith Regional helped train over 1,500 students and staff. In addition, Faith Regional has trained over 1,800 people in CPR at area businesss and organizations. Faith Regional also partnered with the City of Norfolk to bring the life-saving PulsePoint Respond and PulsePoint AED apps to Norfolk. PulsePoint Respond empowers everyday citizens to provide life-saving assistance to victims of sudden cardiac arrest and PulsePoint AED aids in locating AEDs in a cardiac emergency. Since its introduction, over 1,000 community members have downloaded the PusePoint app.
Last year’s Game of Hearts event raised $30,000 to support the purchase of an innovative cardiovascular ultrasound for Faith Regional to help the hospital continue to provide the highest quality of care to the region.
