Volunteers play an important role in supporting the services that put the word “care” in healthcare. At Faith Regional Health Services, volunteers assist in numerous ways. From helping patients or their family members find their way around the hospital to working in the hospital’s gift shop and delivering flowers to patient rooms; volunteers add an important dimension to the care provided at Faith Regional.
Not only do volunteers add to the care provided at Faith Regional through their time and talent, Volunteer Services raises funds to help support the hospital’s mission. All of the proceeds from the hospital’s gift shop are given back to the hospital. In addition, volunteers organize and run various fundraisers throughout the year including bake sales, book fairs and holiday-themed events. In 2017, Volunteer Services made a $250,000 pledge over 5 years to the Medical Offices South Building, currently under construction on the land just across Norfolk Avenue to the south of the main hospital location.
In December of 2018, Volunteer Services donated the second installment of $50,000 to the Medical Offices South project.
“There is nothing better than to watch the hard work of Faith Regional’s volunteers come to fruition in the form of a check handed off to the Faith Regional Health Services Foundation. Our volunteers realize the many benefits the South Medical Office Building affords our region, therefore the commitment of $250,000 was an easy decision to make,” stated Suzann Bugenhagen, Director of Volunteer Services.
