Heart Attack Symptoms
It is also important to be able to recognize the symptoms of a heart attack. If you have any of these heart attack symptoms, call 911 or seek emergency help immediately.
Chest Discomfort. Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, ot that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain.
Discomfort in other areas of the upper body. Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.
Shortness of breath with or without chest discomfort.
Other signs may include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness.

Women’s Symptoms
• Slight discomfort in the chest
• Warning signs appear to be only stress or indigestion
• Shortness of breath, fatigue
• Pain below left shoulder blade or back
• Pain or tingling in the jaw, elbow, arm or throat
Men’s Symptoms
• Dramatic onset of sudden pressure, fullness, squeezing or pain in the center of the chest
• Fainting or Sweating
• Shortness of breath
• Sudden onset of rapid heartbeats
The sooner you get treatment, the greater the chance that physicians can prevent further damage to the heart.
